DeHub’s next chapter: Riftn, BNB recovery and the road to relaunch
By DeHub Team —
This could be the most important update in our history.
I don't say that lightly, and I hope we see this moment as a turning point for our future.
In brief: I'm confident we have a strong case for recovering the BNB stuck in our old liquidity pool. I've finally secured the short, catchy and meaningful .com I've spent years looking for, and this update reveals the new name and explains our plan for relaunching and getting listed.
Binance offers a programme called the Pioneer Burn, which recovers lost BNB on BNB Chain through quarterly Binance burns. This programme specifically states it's for accidental transfers or bugged contracts. Even in their most recent burn, a large amount was recovered through Pioneer Burn, so they still actively offer this.
The issue is that we've been ignored by Binance's support team. The only way we were instructed to apply was via the Binance support chat, where I was asked what an LP was. As many of you know, BNB tweeted us last year after my efforts to start the recovery process, yet the team we worked with were all let go by BNB Chain before we could get an answer from Binance. Our contact Walter, who was head of BD at BNB Chain and was trying to help us recover the BNB, said we needed to get loud on Twitter and get the Binance team's attention.
For our relaunch, there is simply no bigger potential catalyst than recovering the nearly $1 million of our community's money that's stuck in our old LP. I believe Binance could recover it easily: they offer a programme for these exact situations and have continued to do so through their most recent burn. Recovery remains subject to Binance reviewing and approving our case.
Here's the plan.
First, we need a better name. This is something I've been trying to resolve for three years. DeHub was great initially, but we've outgrown it, and the domain pigeonholes us into crypto and tech when we need to appeal to the general public, the masses. The icon logo will remain, as everyone loves it and it perfectly symbolises our new name. As of next week, as long as most of you vote with me, we will be riftn.com.

Rifting is the geological process of the Earth's crust pulling apart to form new seas, land and life through disruptive volcanic eruptions. There is simply not a better word in the English dictionary we can think of that describes what we're trying to do here and what happens if we succeed. Riftn.com is a high-value domain that carries perfect meaning; it is the domain we've all been waiting for, for years. This means there will be a new token that combines everyone onto one contract, while maintaining in-app compatibility with Base, Robinhood, Solana, Arc, Ethereum and BNB, as we have today.
After that, we're going to focus on BNB while publicly appealing for the Pioneer Burn, as transaction costs have come down to levels similar to Base and the app can be sustained easily, especially with discussions about BNB's next upgrade. This also gives us the best chance of capturing the attention and hearts of the Binance team, as well as the wider crypto community and general public.
A few years ago, when we shifted focus to Base, it made sense: transactions were ten times cheaper, BNB was not being worked on, there had been no GitHub updates for years, and we faced endless bugs affecting our development, alongside other issues we highlighted in the past. That's all changed now, and Base has gone above and beyond to show us how much it hates builders on its chain, from stealing open-source projects and funding vampire clones to supporting Ponzi schemes by notorious bad actors. We cannot, in good faith, continue focusing on Base as our main chain, yet we will keep compatibility for obvious reasons.
If we step back and assess the DeHub situation as a whole, this route gives us the highest probability of a successful launch that actually captures attention and mindshare across Crypto Twitter and the world.
Your balances will remain as they are. The app already reads your correct staked balances and holdings across both chains, so you'll just need to log in once to claim your balance after listing. The new token will bring everyone onto the same chain and contract, giving us as clean a fresh start as possible. You do not need to visit any other websites, speak to any admins or share your keys with anyone or anywhere. Everything will happen on dehub.io/riftn.com. More information on the new token and switchover will follow soon.
If, for any reason, we get rejected, we can reassess the situation and develop a better listing strategy, but I genuinely believe this is the best way forward and gives us the highest odds of a strong relaunch. I don't see a scenario where we don't get the support of the wider crypto community as we start asking the question publicly. I believe we meet every criterion needed for the Pioneer Burn to recover our BNB and, with the right rally, we have a strong chance of getting that money back. In the worst-case scenario, if Binance rejects our request, we will assess our options at the end of November. However, I find rejection hard to imagine, as it would be terrible PR for them not to follow through on the promises of their own programme.
All of this can happen quickly, and I hope it does. The fireworks will begin on 5 November and they won't stop until we get an answer. If we're really getting nowhere, we will assess our next steps at the end of November.
On timing, I feel it's important to ensure we are trading before December, the start of the holiday season, when everyone will be at home, browsing the web and spending money.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Feel free to share them in posts on the app!
